But the excitement doesn't stop there. In fact, the NYC Trivia League adds an extra layer of competition with its bonus point system. Every day the top 25 teams earn additional points. The top 10 getting 5 bonus points and the subsequent 15 receiving three. Over the course of the week top 50 teams also get bonus points with the top 25 getting 10 and the next 25 receiving five.
For the calculation of your overall league score, we start with your score as a base and then adjust it to a 100-point score, taking into account the bonus points of 15 given each week. For example, a flawless baseline score of 50 points is multiplied 85 times, and then the bonus points are tacked on top to get to a full 100.
